We were at Serra Kia to replace a key fob my wife lost, received a fob no key attached. When asked about the the key that goes with the key fob we purchased, her answer was that we really don’t need it, couldn’t really give me a reason why it’s not needed. The key is on my original key fob that came with my vehicle. We are concerned that if the fob malfunctions there is no backup key. We have spent over $500 to replace the fob
